Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, Flatpack Film Festival will see screenings, performances, installations and happenings across the city. The festival programme is known for using an all-encompassing definition of ‘film’, and this edition will be no exception.

Award-winning French artist, Boris Labbé, is set to captivate visitors in his first UK exhibition, Rhizome. The exhibition will run until Sunday 24th April from 9.30am to 5pm in Millennium Point’s Atrium, located on the ground floor.

Guests can expect a kaleidoscopic animated display of shapes multiplying on a looping screen installation, alongside a hand-picked selection of the 2,300 drawings which make up the film.

Sound + Vision, a live audio-visual spectacular will take place on Wednesday 20th April from 7.30pm to 11.30pm on Millennium Point’s Mezzanine, located on level one. Using a combination of electronic sounds and unusual sights, it will be a night of live cinema at its best.

The night will feature the UK debut of Amsterdam-based duo Optical Machines who will create a mesmerising light show with lamps, lenses, modified record players and analogue synthesizers.

Sound artist Graham Dunning will present a mechanical techno set in which he will set off a number of looping records spinning on just one axle. The night will draw to a close with Berlin-based artist collective, Transforma and musician/composer PC NACKT, with a set using special, custom-made image and sound making equipment.
