Birmingham Food Drink and Hospitality Awards announced

City’s culinary stars to be recognised.

With Birmingham well established as the epicentre of culinary excellence, news of an awards ceremony celebrating the best of Birmingham’s Food & Drink scene has been welcomed.

The first Birmingham Food Drink & Hospitality Awards will be held in the city this summer celebrating the genius of our best talent. Whether you have a roaring restaurant trade, a coveted chef, a master mixologist or the best bed and breakfast in town, this is a chance for them all to shine.

The award ceremony’s mantra is “Eat, Drink, Sleep, Repeat” and is open to all restaurants, bars, pubs and hotels in the city’s hospitality sector. The ceremony itself will take place at Edgbaston Stadium on Monday 6th June 2016 with an expected 500 guests.

The editor of the prestigious Michelin Guide has heralded Birmingham’s restaurant scene as “world class” and it’s not hard to see why. Dining in the Midlands is now a Gastronome’s dream with five Michelin starred restaurants, a plethora of rosettes awarded and AA Guide recommendations. From fine dining, great curry houses, international cuisine, street food and many pop-up festivals for street food, ales and cider, this will be a chance for them all to shine.

Organised by the team behind the Birmingham Awards in partnership with Delicious PR, co-founder Anita Chumber said, “After the success of our first awards we are continuing our mission to champion the best of Brum. The city really has something to excite everyone’s tastebuds and so this glittering new awards ceremony will celebrate how far we have come. Birmingham has a great national and international reputation for its thriving food and drink scene and we are happy to be celebrating that.”

Delicious PR’s MD, Anita Champaneri said, “Brum has already raised the bar high and with so many diverse and unique offerings, competition will be fierce. I am sure the knives will come out as the battle commences to be crowned winner of each category.”

Judged by an independent panel of well-established food and drink connoisseurs, seasoned foodies and bon viveurs, food and drink has never been so exciting. With the sector playing a major part in the rise in visitor numbers, this scene is a vital cog in the growth of the cities character and future economy.
