Last call for young animators and film makers

Film course available at Light House.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be able to shout “LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!!!” and to be the director of your own film? Or imagined yourself making an animated show like Adventure Time or stop-motion film like the Aardman studios?

A new, prestigious course is allowing young people to try their hand at filming and animation, make their own short film and make their first steps into the industry this summer.

Light House Media Centre have a limited number of free spaces available on their See it, Make it film course at The Chubb Buildings, Wolverhampton, running for two weeks from Monday 17th August. The course has been set up with Light House by Into Film, with the backing of The British Film Institute and The National Lottery.

Young people aged 14-19 who are interested in making a film or animation, script writing, filming or editing, should apply for remaining spaces quickly. All the tutors for the course are experienced film makers and workshop facilitators who are fully CRB checked.

Participants should make their own way to Light House and bring a packed lunch, however refreshments can be purchased from Lock Works café at Light House.

All applicants are welcome, including people with learning disabilities or difficulties, young carers and cared for children. No previous experience is required, just enthusiasm! Applicants need to be available for all sessions over both weeks (Monday-Friday, 10am–3pm).

To contact Light House, you can either email them at [email protected] or call 01902 716055 and ask for Kelly.
