At 5.30 pm there will be a free Dementia Friends Session with Redditch and Bromsgrove Friends Together. This will be followed by an opportunity to talk to members of Alzheimer’s Society Worcestershire to find out about the local support services for people affected by dementia. The evening will conclude with a 7.30 pm screening of the Oscar-winning film Still Alice which stars Julianne Moore as a university professor who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s.

TC Peppercorn, Artrix Learning and Engagement Co-Ordinator, said, “We’re delighted to be working with the Alzheimer’s Society to help raise awareness of this life-changing condition and we hope to become a Dementia Friendly venue in the near future.”

Sam Wood, Information Officer at the Alzheimer’s Society Worcestershire added, “We strongly believe that life doesn’t end when dementia begins and we do everything we can to help those living with dementia hold on to their lives and the things they love for longer. As the population ages, we all face the risk of one day developing dementia but, with the right support, people with the condition can continue to do the things they love and lots, lots more.”
