Sarehole Mill will be hosting regular Sunday afternoon markets throughout the summer starting on Sunday 19th April.

The outdoor markets will have a different theme each Sunday covering streetfood, arts and craft, artisan food and antiques markets. Entry is free to each one.

The first one is on Sunday 19th April, from 11am to 4pm and is a new monthly streetfood, ale and a bit of folk music fayre. Food is provided by Flying Cows – one of the regional most highly regarded new vendors.

Beer will be supplied by Two Towers Brewery, based in the Jewellery Quarter and named after JRR Tolkien’s book. They are the largest of a handful of Birmingham micro-breweries who are revitalising what used to be a real ale desert.

The markets are organised by Martin Mullaney of Flying Teapot Events, who said: “Sarehole Mill is such a wonderful setting for an outdoor market. Along with the picturesque millpond and flour being milled inside, it provides a range of things to do on a lazy Summer Sunday afternoon.”

Rob Hayes, Commercial Director at Birmingham Museums Trust added, “We are delighted to be hosting this wonderful mix of markets at Sarehole Mill over the Summer. It will give visitors a chance to enjoy the fantastic world of JRR Tolkien whilst shopping in the sun.”
