Full Beam Festival drives into Kidderminster

Drive-in movies a highlight of summer fun.

A drive-in Film Festival is just one of the cultural features to look forward to at this summer’s Kidderminster Arts Festival.

The Full Beam Film Festival is being organised by Stella Kourmoulaki, an arts event specialist who won the 2014 Deutsche Bank Award in Creative and Cultural Practice with her plans for the event.

“I’m thrilled that Kidderminster will be hosting the very first Full Beam Festival”, says Stella, who studied for her MA in Arts and Project Management at Birmingham City University before being chosen to work for the Irish OFFLine Film Festival through a development programme at Wolverhampton’s Light House Media Centre. She also has experience of working at Flatpack Film Festival in Birmingham, and is looking forward to launching her own film event in Kidderminster.

“It fits perfectly within the Arts Festival, so we’ll be adding our drive-in film shows to the Festival programme shortly. It will not only feature family and cult classics but also showcase locally produced short films before the features. We’re also using local performers to add to the experience, and we’re committed to using local caterers for our shows.”

The Full Beam Film Festival will be held the weekend of 21st-22nd August in Aldi’s car park in Green Street. Tickets will be on sale from May, when the website will also be launched. For more details visit the Facebook page: fullbeamfestival.

Local businesses with branded cars are also able to showcase their brand by using their cars as VIP cinema seats for non-drivers. For details contact [email protected]
