Happenings at Artix

2015 is underway at Artrix Arts Centre.

It’s three years since Jo Harman first strode out on to a small theatre stage. Since then she has performed alongside Robert Plant and Van Morrison at BluesFest and was voted Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2014 British Blues Awards.

An original British singer-songwriter Jo’s body of work is influenced by blues, gospel, soul, country and rock. Her 2013 debut album Dirt On My Tongue received remarkable critical acclaim and she has recently released a new album Jo Harman and Company – Live At The Royal Albert Hall, recorded by the BBC.

During 2015, her international touring schedule extends to festivals all around Europe and her appearance at Artrix on 6th February looks set to be a real treat for music fans. Jo Harman and the Company are playing at Artrix on Friday 6th February at 8.00 pm. Tickets cost £15

Packed with big hits, outrageous fashion and vintage guitars, tribute act the Counterfeit Stones are making a welcome return to the Artrix stage on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th January. Described by Sir Mick as “the most famous Stones band in England” these 70s rockers have shared stages with Joe Cocker, Iggy Pop and Bryan Ferry amongst many others.

Their audacious musical numbers are interspersed with some hilarious spoof interview footage which is just as entertaining as the music. ‘Satisfaction’ is guaranteed!
The Counterfeit Stones are playing at Artrix on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th January at 8.00 pm. Tickets are available at £20

Join Mole, Ratty, Badger and the boisterous, bumptious, loud and lovable Toad as the adventure of a lifetime unravels on the riverbank.

Live music, hilarious comedy and exciting adventure will come to Artrix when the ever popular Oddsocks present The Wind in the Willows on Sunday 25th January. Children and grown-ups alike will love this classic tale of boats, cars, trains and washerwomen.
