Wonderful winter weekends at Compton Verney

Art gallery celebrates climax of anniversary year.

Christmas trees at Compton Verney LR

Visitors to Compton Verney Art Gallery can enjoy two festive weekends on 6th and 7th December and on 13th and 14th December. This year the gallery has taken inspiration from its current British Folk Art exhibition for its Christmas activities in a celebration of the hand-made, traditional Christmas. This is the last chance to see the current exhibition British Folk Art, which brings together 180 works from all over the UK to reveal this untold story of British Art.

Throughout the weekends, there will be a wide variety of activities for all ages to experience, which include the opportunity to see the amazing art installation of the 7.5 kilometres bunting which has been created by the gallery’s supporters throughout 2014 in celebration of their tenth anniversary year.

Younger visitors can listen to enchanting traditional stories and the whole family can get hands on with the fun Christmas paper craft activities making garlands, gift tags and wrapping paper or make 3D models of your family to add to the Compton Verney Presepe (nativity scene).

There will also be a programme of live music and dancing – full details are listed below

2pm and 3.30pm Music performed by the Cantamus Choir in the Folk Art Objects gallery
