Well, if the Queen can do it…

Brindleyplace launches Big Selfie competition.

2014 – The year the Queen photobombed an Australian hockey player’s selfie and Alexander Gerst out-selfied us all with his photo from space. Now Brindleyplace is calling on all Brummies and visitors to the popular city centre development to end the year in festive selfie fashion and wear their most embarrassing Christmas attire to participate in its Big Christmas Selfie Competition.

Open to everyone and free to participate in, the competition is looking for people to dress up in their Christmas jumpers, Santa hats, reindeer antlers and all other seasonal accessories to create a festive photo on one of Santa’s Selfie Steps, which are located around Brindleyplace until Friday 12th December.

To enter, the Christmas selfie must then be uploaded to Twitter mentioning @Brindleyplace and using the hashtag #BpXmasSelfie for the opportunity to win a £100 gift voucher for Selfridges.

Alison Murphy from the Destination Marketing team at Brindleyplace, said: “We get dozens of selfies shared with us throughout the year on Twitter so we thought this competition would be a great way to get everyone into the festive spirit and give something back to our loyal visitors.

“Just send us a selfie of you with your family or friends dressed up in your fantastic Christmas outfits at any one of our Santa Selfie Step locations and you could be in with a chance to win some extra money to spend on last minute Christmas shopping or to treat yourself with!”

The competition will be launched on Monday 24th November and will run for three weeks. The winner will be announced on Monday 15th December and will be judged by the Selfridges staff at the Birmingham store.

Alison added: “The festive season is always magical at Brindleyplace, with people out and about celebrating Christmas, so to make it more memorable we’re asking everyone to take a fun filled festive photo to spread that Christmas spirit!”
