City centre hotel announces partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital

Tie-up will help strengthen community links.

Hyatt Regency Birmingham has announced Birmingham Children’s Hospital as its 2014 charity partner. The new partnership is part of Hyatt’s global Thrive scheme which was established to build stronger links between Hyatt hotels and their surrounding communities.

The Birmingham city centre hotel will work alongside the charity to come up with a range of fundraising ideas and events to raise money and awareness over the next year including the launch of a new ladies networking and fashion event planned for this Autumn.

Mario Flanagan, general manager of Hyatt Regency Birmingham, said: “The staff played a huge role in selecting our charity partner as we felt it was important to work with a charity which was close to the hearts of all of the team at the hotel. We feel really passionate about the support Birmingham Children’s Hospital gives to patients and their families and we are looking forward to working closely with the team to develop a series of new fundraising ideas.”

Louise McCathie, Birmingham Children’s Hospital Director of Fundraising, said: “Our mission is to make a real difference to all the children and families that need our help by creating a caring and friendly environment and by providing additional facilities, equipment and research. We are really excited to be partnering with such an iconic hotel that recognises the importance of what we do and to make even more of a difference to the lives of those who need us.”
