Coming up at Artrix

Comedy, music and things that defy description.

Audiences at Artrix on Friday 30th May can expect comedy mind-reading, animation, interaction and mind-blowing miracles.

Doug Segal is a comedian with a difference. The entertainer, who has been described as “a bit like a funny version of Derren Brown” has won several awards and his TV appearances include BBC One’s New Year’s Eve show. The audience of 9.5 million live viewers is a record for any performer of this type in the UK.

There’s lots of audience participation but nothing spooky and supernatural about this show. Everything is achieved using Doug’s skills from his background in advertising and psychology. Expect jaw-dropping entertainment and plenty of gasps.

Doug Segal presents I Can Make You a Mentalist at Artrix on Friday 30th May at 8.00 pm. Tickets (ages 16+) cost £15 (£12).

Noise Next Door Tour Image New (3)

Improvisation comedy can be a bit of a hit and miss affair but the five young men who call themselves Noise Next Door have got it sewn up.

The quintet (Charlie, Sam, Tom, Matt and other Tom) glide onto the stage with confident energy and romp through stand-up, comedy games and improv songs, leaving everyone in stitches.

They are particularly good at involving the audience, making sure that they are partly responsible for the story behind every game, song and adventure acted out. Described by the Guardian as “staggeringly well-executed” this is a rare treat for comedy fans.

The Noise Next Door are playing at Artrix on Thursday 5th June at 8.00 pm. Tickets (16+) cost £12.
