Happening at Artrix

Music, dance and an X Factor presenter are all coming up.

Whether she’s singing her native traditional songs of lost love and emigration, or original compositions, you will be hard pressed to find a more emotive and captivating performer. Cara is at the very top of her field and one has the feeling she’ll remain there for a very long time.

Cara Dillon is playing at Artrix on Thursday 15th May at 8.00 pm. Tickets are available at £18.50

There will be a rare opportunity to see some of the UK’s most talented young dancers performing works by upcoming choreographers in May. In its 22 year history, INTOTO Dance has been committed to supporting emerging choreographers, as well as commissioning work from established figures in the world of contemporary dance and dance theatre.  This is reflected in excitingly diverse programmes, performed by dancers from the London Studio Centre, one of the most prestigious performing arts colleges in the country.

INTOTO

INTOTO is delighted to be returning to Artrix and will be presenting works by four up-and-coming choreographers. These include Ana Lujan Sanchez, former Rambert dancer and twice winner of the Critics Circle Contemporary Artist of the Year; Wayne Parsons who recently choreographed three works for National Dance Company Wales and Dam Van Huynh, Dance United’s first Associate Artist.

Intoto Dance are performing at Artrix on Tuesday 20th May at 7.30 pm. Tickets are available at £12 (£10) and £7 for students

In just three years, Matt Richardson has established himself as one of the hottest and most exciting acts on the comedy circuit. He is best known as the co-presenter of the ITV2 spin-off show the Xtra Factor, a role he took over from Olly Murs in the tenth series in 2013.

He frequently appears on shows such as Celebrity Juice and Never Mind the Buzzcocks and is fast gaining a reputation for his self-deprecating stories delivered with an irresistible twinkle. His Hometown Hero show, which won the award for best show at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2012 is high energy, hilarious and a bit rude!

Matt Richardson’s Hometown Hero is playing at Artrix on Thursday 22nd May at 8.00 pm. Tickets (16+ only) are available at £10

All tickets can be purchased from the box office on 01527 577330 or at www.artrix.co.uk
