Not only did two employees from Cranfield Business Recovery run 5km when representing Coventry in this month’s Corporate Games at the weekend but another member of the team from Cranfield Business Finance also covered over 46 miles in the Snowdonia Challenge and is due to cycle another 100 miles in the Prime Accountants group Gold Post box Challenge later this month.

The gruelling activities started on Saturday when Ben Jones and Tom Madden, both members of Coventry Godiva Harriers, donned their running shoes to take part in the Corporate Games, the world’s largest multi-sport festival for businesses and organisations. Ben, an accomplished runner who won the Coventry half marathon last year was placed 1st and Tom who also has seven years running experience came 2nd.

Cranfield Business Finance took part in the Snowdonia Charity Challenge as part of the team entered by commercial property consultant’s ehB Commercial. Director Alan Jones travelled for eight hours to complete a tough course which included cycling for 40 miles, climbing up Snowdon and canoeing across Llyn Gwynant.

Alan will also be doing his bit for charity when he takes part in the Prime Accountants group Gold Post Box Cycle Challenge, inspired by last year’s London Olympic Games. The event sees business people from across the region cycle to all 62 Olympic gold post boxes in the UK over a 3 month period. Cranfield has chosen the Nailsworth post box and Prime Accountants group are inviting donations through the official JustGiving page.

Brett Barton, director of Cranfield Business Recovery said: “It certainly is a busy month for a number of our staff, and once again we are thrilled to be involved with some really worthy causes.”

In conjunction with this hive of activity Cranfield maintain their close links with Coventry Godiva Harriers and remain the proud sponsors of Katrina Wootton, one of Great Britain’s top runners working to make an impact at international level. Katrina is excelling in her running, and was recently rewarded with a huge Personal Best in a race in Bristol, sharing the podium with Mo Farah.
