Proceeds raised from both concerts will go to support the work of Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.

Brahms’ Second Symphony is the main work in the programme. It is one of his sunniest and most life-affirming works, and the last movement is guaranteed to stir the heart of every listener. The concert begins with shorter compositions by Liszt and Wagner.

SBS conductor, Lee Differ, said: “I’m pleased with how the orchestra has developed and flourished in recent years, and delighted with the many appreciative testimonials from our audiences”.

Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice Community Fundraiser Jen Boilestad said “We appreciate the long-standing support of the orchestra, and our Hospice representatives always enjoy being at the concerts”.

The sinfonia will perform the same programme twice. Once at Shirley Methodist Church on Saturday July 13th and again at St. Francis’ Church, Bournville, on Saturday July 20th. Both concerts begin at 7:30 pm.

Tickets are available at the venue door on concert night, at £10 each (£7 children). More details are available at www.southbirminghamsinfonia.com.
