Marketing event to aid international development

The need for businesses to develop their international marketing capabilities will be the focus of an event held at the University of Wolverhampton this June.

The event, co-organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the University’s Business School, will include keynote speakers Sue Rennie and David Witton.

The conference will detail the latest research in the field of international marketing, as well as exploring the practicalities of exporting for small to medium enterprises.

Attendees will be enlightened on how managers are recognising the necessity to develop the skills and knowledge to compete effectively in international markets, and how businesses can improve their bottom lines by opening new markets overseas.

Sue Rennie is departmental Head of Marketing, Enterprise and Strategic Management and CIM course leader at the University of Wolverhampton Business School. She will deliver the latest research on the topic of international marketing.

David Witton is a Marketing Manager at the University of Wolverhampton, and formerly a Sales & Marketing Manager at Entec International Ltd. There he assisted in delivering procurement and logistics solutions to blue chip manufacturers in the food & beverage, cement, oil & gas, agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors.

David will talk about his experience working in West Africa and North America developing market development strategies for Entec, as they expanded their business as a result of establishing new contracts in South America, Russia and Asia.

The event will take place at the University’s Business Solutions Centre on June 11, between 17:00-19:00. The event is free, but booking is essential.
