Punch Records present Soul Acoustic

Birmingham-based creative arts company PUNCH have announced their inaugural Soul Acoustic tour, to take place across the UK in June 2013.

Soul Acoustic will form part of the 2013 BASS Festival in Birmingham. The show features Terri Walker, Shakka, Shea, ShezAr plus special guests, at Glee Club Birmingham, Tuesday 11th June.

Terri Walker

Terri Walker

Headline artist Terri Walker‘s career began working with The Young Disciples. Work with 187 Lockdown & Gifford in the UK Garage arena followed, with Shanks & Bigfoot asking Terri to feature on their album. After a period in LA, Terri was signed to iconic label Def Jam. Her debut album Untitled was nominated for the 2003 Mercury Music Prize alongside her nominations for Best R&B Act, UK Act of the Year, Best Album and Best Newcomer at the 2003 MOBO Awards.

After this chapter, Terri met Grammy award-winning producer Salaam Remi. This saw Terri providing backing vocals for Duran Duran, Nas, Cee-Lo and Jamie Cullum as well as working with Jennifer Hudson & Fergie. Terri has also worked extensively with Wiley (‘Heatwave’ (No.1) and ‘Can You Hear Me?’ (Top 5)), Chipmunk (‘Oopsie Daisy’) and noted producer Ski Beatz.

SHAKKA (SHAX)

Shakka

Shakka‘s fans already include Wretch 32 (Shakka features on single ‘Blackout’), Maverick Sabre and Rita Ora. He has also won praise from Kiss FM’s Melvin O’Doom, and has been invited to perform at Tate Britain with Speech Debelle as part of their ‘Greatest British Art Debate’.

Shea

Shea

Paying her dues on the live and club circuit, Shea has featured on tracks with legendary UK Garage producer MJ Cole, Toddla T and Shy FX under the name Shea Soul. Her self-penned debut album Grey Skies & Rainbow Fingernails is due in Summer 2013, featuring her debut single ‘Where Did you Go?’.

Also performing is the very talented ShezAr, who has worked with F.A.Q., younger brother Labrinth, Aiden Grimshaw and toured with Wretch 32 and Example. Singer Ms D has featured on all three of Wiley’s singles from his latest album The Ascent, and Chipmunk’s single ‘Oopsy Daisy’. Singer-songwriter Call Me Unique is heavily influenced by jazz, soul and scat-singing. Combined with rap, soulful lyrics and voice of breath taking beauty over her subtle guitar arrangements.
