The Broad Street venue have sponsored The REP since 2007 and this renewal of support comes at an important time in the history of the company as it celebrates its centenary as well as re-opening its newly refurbished theatre in September.   The sponsorship in particular will contribute to The REP’s 100th birthday celebrations including a special exhibition marking a dramatic century of theatre in Birmingham.

Sue Lloyd, Sponsorship Manager at Birmingham Repertory Theatre said: “We are thrilled that Grosvenor G Casino are supporting us once again having been associated with The REP for over six years including the past two years whilst we have been working offsite as our theatre undergoes refurbishment.  As a charity, their long term corporate investment is vital to the life of The REP and whilst the arts are dealing with the impact of funding cuts, corporate support is more important than ever.”

David Cox, Customer Services Manager at Grosvenor G Casino said: “We are pleased to extend our support for The REP during its centenary year.   Our long term partnership with The REP generates great value for both organisations and we are proud to be associated with one of the leading regional theatres in the country.”

Grosvenor G Casino, part of the Rank Organisation has had a presence in Birmingham since 1981 when it acquired Cromwell’s Casino. It moved to its current location in 2001 when the Five Ways Leisure Complex was completed. They have a strong affiliation to the arts and thanks to their partnership with Birmingham Repertory Theatre have been nominated and shortlisted three times for the Jaguar Land Rover Arts In Business Award.

As part of their sponsorship Grosvenor G Casino will hold an exhibition at their Broad Street venue that celebrates The REP’s centenary.  It opens to the public from 16 April to 7 May and will feature costumes, photographs and other theatrical ephemera from the theatre’s past.
