Gordon Harley’s thought for the weekend

Embrace the everyday – the mundane – the ordinary.

TranquilityReading all the celeb magazines, it would be easy to imagine that our lives are so much less because we are not flying off to Cannes or designing a new clothing range and being with the ‘beautiful’ people.

I can’t help but think that joy comes from the ordinary – if we can truly see the beauty in the everyday that we are living.

If we are always looking at ‘celebrities’ and wanting what they have we will miss what is around us.

Strive by all means – although envy is a particularly unattractive trait in anyone – but do not imagine that eating in the poshest places will always bring what you want.

You cannot buy joy anymore than you can, love. Yes money certainly  does alleviate material concerns and is important in our lives.

However, money alone will not bring the peace, the love, the joy that makes our lives full.

Ultimately it is love that brings joy – just look at someone in love or at a child who is loved and you will understand what I mean.

Give love this Christmas – the best gift

Happy Christmas
