This Week at the Robin

Tonight there’s a chance to see two of Britain’s most promising new prog bands. The Reasoning’s new album Adventures in Neverland came out last month while Touchstone have seen their entire back catalogue re-released recently. Both bands have had a productive couple of years which have seen them touring regularly, playing the festival circuit and being nominated for assorted awards. Tickets £12

Tuesday sees a re-arranged date for Reverend Peyton’s Damned Big Band. This country blues trio from Indiana play instruments older than themselves, tour the world performing over 250 dates a year and their latest album, Between the Ditches, reached no. 2 on the Billboard blues charts. Tickets £10

The Robin will be the venue for a notable landmark on Wednesday with the 2,000th gig by Jefferson Starship. The legendary Californian outfit formed in 1974 and have enjoyed massive commercial and critical success, with founder members Paul Kantner and David Freiberg remaining mainstays of the band throughout. Tickets £18

On Thursday there’s Genesis tribute ReGenesis. Tickets £15

Another tribute are on stage on Friday in the form of Fleetwod Bac. Tickets £11

There’s a special show on Saturday as the Robin stages its annual Rock Against Cancer charity gig. Headlining are Tranzam and also appearing are fellow local bands Voodoo Sioux, Off the Rails, 7 Teez and Arizona Storm, with others to be announced. Tickets £5
