Theft from Acocks Green store causes heartache

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Acocks Green Furniture & Electrical Store, located at 7 Shirley Road, was broken into last Thursday.

It is estimated that the damage and stock stolen from the Store was worth over £2,000 to the nation’s heart charity.

The Acocks Green Store is encouraging people to come forward with information on the break in and is hoping the local community will support the Store in its time of need.

The Store is urgently appealing to local residents to scour their homes for any unwanted, good quality furniture and electrical items – all of which will help the Store continue its fight against heart disease.  From suites to sofas; chairs to dining sets; TV’s to Hi-Fi’s the Store offers a free collection service which can be booked online at bhf.org.uk/collection so it’s easy to help.

Last year BHF Shops raised over £26 million for the nation’s heart charity, helping thousands of vulnerable heart patients across the country.

Neil Haynes, BHF Area Manager for Acocks Green says: “We absolutely rely on the support of the Acocks Green community to keep us running and without their vital donations we risk reducing the care and support available to heart patients across the country.

“If each household were willing to spend just half an hour having a clear out and donating to the Acocks Green Store it would make a big difference.”
