That’s Albion supporter Terry Wills’ summing-up of their last two games.

Following the Wigan debacle, two successive away wins at Blackburn and Newcastle have raised every Baggies supporters hopes that we won’t be too close to the bottom three in the Greed League for comfort.

And what a way for Peter Odemwingie to answer his growing number of critics! Scoring a tremendous winner at Blackburn and the opener in the unexpected but welcome victory at Newcastle.Certainly that dismal Wigan display must have led to a few harsh words being spoken, despite Roy Hodgson’s somewhat optimistic reported comments after the game. But when he said saying we deserved the six points from Ewood and St James Park he was smack on.

Has the corner been turned? It’s too early to say but hould we manage to even gain one point from the Boxing Day Hawthorns clash with Manchester (billionaire) City then the prospect of enjoying a more successful second half of the season will be greatly increased. As to the possible emergence of a genuine ‘goal busting’ duo of Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie, only time will prove whether this is pure optimism or a genuine threat.

Should this be the case then, with hopefully a more resolute defensive strategy, results will be far more appreciated (and hey, even Graham McCauley scored at St James Park!) and in the second half of the campaign there will be more good than sad days. We can but hope, but one thing’s for certain – they’ll be no easy games and every point eventually gained will be earned.

So to every football loving Midlands football supporter (yes even those at Villa Park and Molineux) I wish you compliments of the season. Mind you, I could rescind that wish should you eventually take over as the being the current Greed League club come the season’s end!
