West Midlands Campaign for Better Transport: An invitation

Rail commuters from the West Midlands are being urged to come forward and bring their concerns about local rail services in the West Midlands to campaigners at an open surgery.

TrainsRepresentatives from local rail user groups will be on hand on Saturday 5th November 2011 between 10:30 and 12:00 at Carrs Lane Church Centre, opposite Moor Street station in Birmingham City Centre, to listen to the concerns of passengers and take them forward with train operators including London Midland and Chiltern, and the passenger transport authority Centro.

Everyone is welcome.

Kevin Chapman of West Midlands Campaign for Better Transport said the event “offered a good opportunity for passengers to come and have their say about what is good and bad about their local rail services.   Whilst there have been improvements such as the new trains on the Snow Hill lines we know that passengers do have concerns about many issues, including fares, overcrowding, facilities at local stations and the reliability of services.   It would be helpful to get feedback from rail users which we can share with our contacts in the train companies and Centro.”

It is planned the surgeries will become a regular feature, and the groups are also working on plans for a new rail user group for the West Midlands to represent the interests of passengers on routes in the Centro area.
