There will be something for everyone on the day with activities for all ages, including face and henna painting, heelwork and obedience for Park dogs and their owners, displays of kabaddi and semi-finals of the Ability Academy football league, the chance to have a go at Park orienteering, fencing, Black Country hoops and circus skills. Teams of six people who like a challenge will be able to take part in the Ten Fun Games involving team work and agility, with individual winning medals and certificates awarded.

Community Games is inspired by London 2012 and part of the Cultural Olympiad in the West Midlands. It has been funded by Legacy Trust UK, an independent charity set up to help build a lasting cultural and sporting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Olympian and former 5000 metre World Record holder, David Moorcroft OBE said, “The Birmingham Community Games is a great way of bringing the whole community together for a fun day out. I wish everyone involved every success, and I’m sure the event will become a permanent  fixture in the Park Friends calendar.”

Tony Fox, Chair of the Friends of Cannon Hill said, “We wanted to make sure that we celebrated the London Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of the WM Cultural Olympiad here in the Birmingham Peoples Park, and I would like to thank everyone who is contributing to the events. We are looking forward to the fun and Games for all on 24th July.”
