Sheldon Little League are winners

Touchwood chequeA local Sheldon club secured funding from Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull last week, thanks to Touchwood employee Bob Carsley.

Members of Touchwood’s management team presented the Sheldon Little League, a local football league for children, with a cheque for £1,500 on Friday, which will help the team with the cost of training, equipment and pitch hire.  Bob, an External Host  at Touchwood, has close ties with the club as not only does his grandson play for the team, but he also helps to coach the players in his free time.

Thanks to his voluntary involvement with the club, Bob was able to apply for funding on behalf of Sheldon Little League through Touchwood’s Foundation scheme, which supports employees who volunteer in their spare time.

Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, comments: “Sheldon Little League is a great club and one which has been running for 20 years, so it is well known throughout the local community.  What’s more the team is very close to Bob’s heart so we’re delighted to be able to be able to help them with funding.

“It was a joy to go along and meet all of the players, coaching staff and everyone else who helps out at the club on Friday.  We hope that the cheque goes a long way to helping the team in the future.”
